Boy, I bet you wish you had the Inter web back in high school!

Can you imagine all the hot girls you would have dated if only you knew how to get a girls number. Ah well, no point in thinking about the past and what could have or should have been.

It’s actually a lot easier than you think

The problem is that most dudes think about it like… well… a dude. That’s the problem with us men, we are all direct and stuff.

You can’t be that way with women though. Could you imagine yourself being a chick at a bar or a festival or something and a strange dude walks up to you, you start chatting and five minutes later he is asking for your number?

I mean how do you know as a chick that he’s not some weird serial killer or something?

You don’t, you barely know him. Sure you might think he is funny or cute or whatever, but the fact is that most girls are going to feel uncomfortable giving their number away to a stranger.

Put your psychology strategy hat on for a few moments

The aim is to reverse that risk. It’s called a risk reversal technique in marketing circles, but for this little example we are going to tweak it for our benefit in getting a hot girls number.

While talking to her casually just whip your phone out and say something along the lines of “hey look, I may have to leave in a little bit, so I’m going to go ahead and get your number now.” What this does is two things.

1)    It makes her assume you were going to get it later anyway.

2)    It makes it feel cool instead of awkward.

The follow up is what is totally killer about this strategy and without it, this technique would probably never work.

Give her your phone… literally!

If you believe she is a hot ex-con or a sexy gypsy, you might not want to do this part. In all other normal circumstances you want to do exactly this.

Give her your phone as you’re telling her you’re going to get her number. You want to just hand it to her kind of like if you were going to give her a glass of water or something like that.

This will instantly and automatically reverse the risk by giving her control of the situation and it’s also a dirty little psychological trick.

You see, when someone hands you something your instinct tells you to take it.

What the heck are you staring at!?

Whatever you do next, like right after you hand her your phone, don’t just stare at her like some creepy salesman waiting for the client to sign the contract.

You want to play with your watch, fiddle with your keys, laugh or talk with the person next to you, this will give her the opportunity she needs instead of making her feel like you’re shining a great big light in her eyes and making her feel uncomfortable.

99.9% of the time she is going to punch her number in.

The next thing is to continue talking, chit chatting or making a joke afterwards.

Don’t just take off like a drug mule that’s just made it through airport security. You want to kind of hang out for another few minutes talking away and building some rapport and then, when all is said and done, make a cool get away.
